DR. CERIĆ U PISMU LAUDERU: ETNIČKO ČIŠĆENJE GAZE NIJE NI MOGUĆE NI MORALNO PRIHVATLJIVO

Otvoreno pismo bivšeg reisu-l-uleme dr. Mustafe Cerića Ronaldu Lauderu, predsjedniku Svjetskog jevrejskog kongresa
Poštovani gospodine Lauder,
Kao narod koji je preživio genocid, Bosanci i Hercegovci pamte vašu podršku i solidarnost u našoj borbi za pravdu. Zbog toga danas osjećam i zahvalnost i duboku tugu.
Zahvalnost — jer ste osudili plan ministra finansija Izraela Bezalela Smotriča o proširenju ilegalnih naselja na Zapadnoj obali.
Tugu — jer svjedočimo stradanju palestinskog naroda u Gazi i na Zapadnoj obali, gdje je prekršen zavjet “Nikad više”.
Gospodine Lauder, etničko čišćenje Gaze nije ni moguće ni moralno prihvatljivo. Ono što IDF čini u Gazi i na Zapadnoj obali nanosi štetu ne samo Palestincima, nego i jevrejskom narodu, povećavajući antisemitizam širom svijeta.
Molim Vas da svoj glas razuma učinite još snažnijim i jasnijim, kako bi se zaustavio ovaj ciklus nasilja i potomci Ibrahima živjeli zajedno u miru i blagostanju u Jerusalemu, Palestini i Izraelu.

Open Letter to Mr. Ronald Lauder, President of the World Jewish Congress
Dear Mr. Lauder,
As a people who have survived genocide, Bosnians and Herzegovinians remember your support and solidarity in our struggle for justice. For this, I feel both gratitude and deep sorrow today.
Gratitude — for your condemnation of Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich’s plan to expand illegal settlements in the West Bank.
Sorrow — because we witness the suffering of the Palestinian people in Gaza and the West Bank, where the pledge of “Never Again” has been broken.
Mr. Lauder, the ethnic cleansing of Gaza is neither possible nor morally acceptable. What the IDF is doing in Gaza and the West Bank harms not only Palestinians but also the Jewish people, fueling antisemitism around the world.
I urge you to make your voice of reason even stronger and clearer, so that this cycle of violence may end and the descendants of Abraham may live together in peace and prosperity in Jerusalem, Palestine, and Israel.
