— F. Bajric (2008-12-02 23:48:53) Istina o Aishi (Truth about Aisha) OVO JE ONO STO PRIHVATA VECINA MUSLIMANKOG SVIJETA- JER SE VIDI DA U TOM HADISU IMA PREVISE GRESAKA I STVARI KOJE POKAZUJU DA NIJE NIKAKO BILO MOGUCE DA IMA 9 GODINA. STAVIT CU NA ENGLESKOM, ALI AKO BILO KOME BUDE TREBALO DA PREVEDEM NA BOSANSKOM, POKUSAT CU PREVESTI. SOME HISTORICAL FACTS THAT NEED CONSIDERING CAREFULLY we consider what may possibly be the most serious piece of miss-information in the whole of the Muslim history- the long unchallenged notion that the Prophet's third wife Aisha’s. daughter of his dear friend Abu Bakr, was only 6 when she accepted nikah (Marriage) with the Prophet, that she married him physically when she was around 9, and was around 18 when he died. One can find these 'facts' quoted again and again; moreover, they appear to the based on the most trustworthy of authorities - hadith collections of Bukhari, Muslim, Abu Dawod, an-Nasa'i and Ibh Majah. However they are many points to consider. Firstly, all of these authorities seem to have based their conclusions solely on the work of Aisha's relative, the historian Hisham ibh Urwah, grandson of Aisha's sister Asma. One might think, therefore, that they were extremely accurate. However Hisham's accuracy in other matters was challenged. The matters pertaining to Aisha were supposedly obtained from Hisham's father, but apparently these hadiths were offered only in Iraq and were unknown to the people of Madinah, and must necessarily be regarded as not entirely trustworthy (reasons P.S. Many facts, ignored by early scholars, should be examined very carefully indeed before today's scholars conclude Aisha was only 6 at her nikah. 1. The age of Aisha in relationship to the age of her sister Asma One theory involves the relationship of her age to that of her half- sister Asma. There are two facts which if established, make it impossible for Aisha to have been only 6 at her nikah. Firstly, it is stated that Asma was 10 years older than Aisha, and secondly that she died in 73 AH at the very advanced age of 100 years. The date was easily fixed in the mind as she died just a few days after her son Abdullah ibn Zubayr was killed in battle. Ibn Abd al-Barr (1071 CE) gives the same facts, though he dates her death a few months (not days) after the death of Abdullah. If Asma truly was 10 years older than Aisha, and truly was 100 years old in 73 AH, then Aisha would have been 90 had she lived to that year, and by simple subtraction of dates, since 73 AH is the equivalent of 695 CE (622, Hijrah Year + 73) she must have been born in 605 CE. Furthermore if - as is claimed - Asma was born 27 years prior to the Hijrah, then Aisha must have been born 17 year prior to it. So if the generally accepted tradition that Aisha entered the Prophet's home as his fully married wife in 2 AH/624 CE, she must have been 19 not 9. Sincere and genuine Muslims who believe that she was a minor when she married, are humbly requested to have second thoughts and to derive conclusions afresh after considering all the evidences offered. |
