Svijetski intelektualci pozivaju vlasti u Prijedoru da priznaju zločine genocida, odaju počast žrtvama i omoguće pristup logoru "Omarska" POKAŽITE SOLIDARNOST PREMA ŽRTVAMA GENOCIDA U PRIJEDORU

Historijske činjenice: Trideset i prvog maja 1992. godine vlasti bosanskih Srba u Prijedoru izdale su naredbu putem lokalnog radija kojom se naređuje nesprskom stanovnistvu da obilježi svoje kuće bijelim zastavama ili čaršafima, i da pri izlasku iz kuća stave bijele trake oko rukava. Ovo je bio početak kampanje istrebljenja u kojoj su provođene masovne egzekucije, silovanja, otvarani koncentracioni logori smrti i činjeni drugi zločini, čiji je konačni ishod bio uklanjanje 94% Bošnjaka i bosanskih Hrvata sa teritorije opštine Prijedor. Ovo je bio prvi put od 1939. i nacističkog proglasa po kojem su poljski Jevreji morali nositi bijele trake sa plavom Davidovom zvijezdom oko rukava, kako bi na ovaj način bili obilježeni za istrebljenje. Internacionalni ekspertni tim Instituta za Istraživanje genocida Kanada koristi ovu priliku da još jednom podsjeti svijet da je u Prijedoru izvršen masovni zločin genocida, kulturocida, ekocida, etnocida, urbicida, elitocida, masovno, namjerno, organizovano ubijanje, protjerivanje, silovanje prije svega, Bošnjaka, a zatim i Hrvata. Ubijanja Bošnjaka vršena su na svakom mjestu i svugdje, tijela ubijenih ležala su i više dana, a onda su ih zarobljeni skupljali na kamione koji su odvoženi na različite lokacije. Poseban je primjer ubijanja logoraša u rejonu Korićanske stijene (općina Skender Vakuf), gdje je 21. augusta 1992. ubijeno više od dvije stotine logoraša. Pripadnici interventnog voda policije ubili su i u provaliju, duboku preko 200 metara, bacili tijela ubijenih. Pored masovnih (128, sa 1.511 tijela) i pojedinačnih (278, sa 278 tijela) grobnica ekshumiranih na teritoriji općine Prijedor, tijela Prijedorčana su pronalažena u masovnim i pojedinačnim grobnicama u još šesnaest drugih gradova. Radi se o 312 ekshumiranih tijela, od čega je 276 identifikovano.
Genocid u Prijedoru je razmatran na Međunarodnom krivičnom tribunalu za područije bivše Jugoslavije u Hagu među presudom Slobodanu Miloševiću i optužnicama protiv Radovana Karadžića i Ratka Mladića. Za zločine protiv čovječnosti u Prijedoru dosada je osuđeno 28 osoba, najviše na Međunarodnom krivičnom tribunalu za područije bivše Jugoslavije u Hagu. Procesuiranjem genocida u Prijedoru bavili su se i Sud Bosne i Hercegovine, te Okružni sud u Banjoj Luci. Danas je Bosna i Hercegovina država koja funkcioniše na osnovama mirovnog sporazuma potpisanog 1995. po kojem je Prijedor završio u Republici Srpskoj i ako je Armija Bosne i Hercegovine tih dana bila na domaku njegovog oslobođenja. Opštinske vlasti u Prijedoru do današnjeg dana nisu žrtvama ove genocidne kampanje na bilo koji način odali počast za patnje kroz koje su prošli. Gradonačelnik Marko Pavić i lokalne vlasti odbijaju javno priznati da su zločini počinjeni u Prijedoru, uprkos brojnim presudama međunarodnih i lokalnih sudova. Podizanje spomenika u spoment prijedorskim žrtvama u gradu nije dozvoljen, a pristup mjestima zločina onemogučuju mnogi uključujući i Acelor-Mittal, kompaniju koja je danas vlasnik lokacije na kojoj se nalazio zloglasni logor Omarska. Pozivamo Vas da hitno i javno zatražite od gospodina Marka Pavića, gradonačelnika Prijedora i lokalnih vlasti u Prijedoru da priznaju zločine počinjene u Prijedoru, odaju dužnu počast žrtvama tih zločina i omuguće pristup mjestu nekadašnjeg koncentracionog logora smrti u Omarskoj. Pozivamo sve svijetske političke i pravne autoritete, organizacije i institucije za zaštitu ljudskih prava i sloboda da dignu svoj glas u zaštitu prava preživjelih žrtava genocida u Prijedoru, za bolju budućnost Prijedora i Bosne i Hercegovine. To je potrebno kako se genocid ne bi više nikada i nikome ponovio. Pozivamo Vas da pokazati svoju solidarnost sa žrtvama genocida u Prijedoru.
